Our Vision
Something is missing from modern life — and from modern medicine, modern education, and modern work. Not a tool or a technique. A relationship. The ancient, reciprocal relationship between human beings and the living world they evolved inside of.
Rewilding Lab exists to restore it.
We envision a future where human wellbeing is rooted in that relationship — where the natural world is understood not as a backdrop to human life but as its foundation. Where the arts are recognized not as decoration but as one of the oldest technologies of human sense-making. Where the body is treated not as a vehicle for the mind but as a source of intelligence in its own right.
This is not a distant vision. It is available now — in a forest, in a room filled with natural materials, in the slow and deliberate act of paying attention to what the living world has always been trying to say.
Rewilding Approach
Time in nature, creative practice, and mind-body awareness are each independently supported by decades of research as powerful antidotes to stress, burnout, and the particular exhaustion of modern life. Rewilding Lab weaves all three together. You don't have to choose between the mountain bike and the forest bath. But if you've ever come home from a ride still carrying the week, you might be ready for both.
NATURE
The natural world is a teacher, a regulator, and a mirror —intentional time with nature is one of the most evidence-based interventions available to us.
ARTS
Creativity is not a talent. It is a way of knowing — and through making, whether with pigment, scent, water, or words, we access what thinking alone cannot reach.
MIND-BODY
The body holds what the mind cannot always articulate. Through mindfulness, somatic awareness, and imagination, we work with the whole person..
This work stands on the shoulders of those — past and present — whose work illuminates the relationship between humans and the natural world.
Affiliations & Partnerships
The Work That Reconnects — developed by ecophilosopher and activist Joanna Macy — informs our approach to helping participants rediscover purpose through deep connection with the living world.
As a participating member of the NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative, we apply current research on how aesthetic experiences measurably change the brain and body — translating that science into the creative practices at the heart of our workshops and sessions.

Ecotherapy, also known as nature therapy or green therapy, is based on the understanding that humans are deeply connected to and impacted by the natural environment.
A growing body of research highlights the benefits of reconnecting with nature, including reduced stress, enhanced emotional well-being, and improved overall health.

Mind-body practices are about bringing harmony to your mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. These include meditation, mindfulness, yoga, tai chi, qigong, and relaxation techniques like deep breathing, guided imagery, and progressive muscle relaxation. They also embrace healing touch, hypnotherapy, shamanic healing, and even prayer. These practices help you reduce stress, build resilience, and reconnect with yourself in a deeper way, offering a path to both emotional and physical healing.

Neuroarts is the study of how the arts and aesthetic experiences measurably change the body, brain, and behavior, and how this knowledge is translated into specific practices that advance health and wellbeing. Creative practices such as visual art, dance, music, and storytelling can enhance cognitive function, emotional resilience, and overall mental health.

Our workshops feature a thoughtful mix of indoor and outdoor experiences, designed to match the type of activity and the weather. We love being outdoors as much as possible, whether it’s for discussions, lectures, or creative work, because of nature’s incredible healing benefits and inspiration. That said, some activities may be better suited for an indoor setting, and we adjust accordingly to ensure participants are comfortable and fully engaged. This flexibility allows us to create meaningful and impactful experiences in any setting.

Peoples & Land Acknowledgment
We respectfully acknowledge that our office sits on the ancestral homeland of the Osage, Cherokee, Caddo, and Quapaw Nations, who lived on and cared for this land long before settlers arrived. A portion of the Trail of Tears passes through this region, where peoples of the Cherokee, Choctaw, Muscogee, Chickasaw, and Seminole Nations were forcibly displaced.
We honor the sacredness of this land and the enduring presence of all First Nations Peoples. We recognize that rewilding our future must include truth-telling, accountability, and restoration.
